Tell me what the workflow is

A short note is enough. I reply within one working day, and I will say if I am the wrong person for the work.

What happens after you send this

I read the note the same working day it arrives, or the next morning if you send it after 18:30 SGT. You get a reply from [email protected], even if the answer is that I cannot take the work or that I am already engaged.

If the brief looks like a fit, I propose a 30-minute call. The call is for the data constraint, the desk, and whether a discovery sprint or a review is the right first format.

After the call I send a short written note: the format I would use, what I would need from you, and when I could start. Fees appear in that note, against a fixed scope, once I have seen a sample of the data.

Before you write

Useful things to mention, if you have them to hand. None of this is required to send the form.

Systems

The source system

Where the documents or records live today: a drive, a mailbox, a ledger, a ticket tool. Even a rough name helps me picture the path.

Scale

The volume

A folder of forty PDFs and a corpus of forty thousand are different builds. An order of magnitude is enough at this stage.

Constraint

Data restrictions

Whether records may leave Singapore, and whether personal data is in the corpus. I design around what you tell me here.

Calendar

The timing

A hard date, a quiet quarter, or “when you next have capacity” all change how I answer. I will say if I cannot meet a date.
